So, it seems like it has been a really long time since I have posted anything here! I am going to breakout the updates by kids & I hope you don't get tired of reading by the time you get to the end of it, lol!
Matt & I are doing great. We are both trying to get over colds and I really think this pollen isn't helping. Okay, now on to the ones that you really want to read about, lol.
Happy 7th Birthday Caleb! Wow, has it really been 7 years already? It is so hard to believe that he is 7 years old. This means that my mom has now been gone for 7 years too. I hate that Caleb & Nathan will never have the opportunity to experience what a wonderful Nanny she was.
Wednesday was his 7th birthday and he had a great day! Mommy went and had lunch with him and took cupcakes for he and his classmates. I do not know that I have ever heard so many thank yous from kids that age before. I felt sorry for his teacher when I left because the kids seemed so hyper, lol. After school his dad and uncle picked him up and took him to Toys-R-Us and McDonalds. They even picked him up in car-line, which is a really big deal! Then once he got home we did the birthday song and enjoyed some homemade cupcakes. It was a great day all around! We are having a family birthday lunch for him on Sunday @ CiCi's, which he loves! Then, in a couple of weeks he is going to have a party at the park and invite all of his friends and family.
Caleb is enjoying his new school (new since November) and is doing great and has made lots of friends. I actually spoke to his teacher earlier this week and she told me that he is well above the level that they are expected to be at the end of 1st grade. :) My smart little boy!!!
He is doing great with his glasses, even though I have to go take him to have them adjusted about every month or two. He has been wearing a patch over his right eye to help strengthen his left eye which is his lazy eye. We went to the doctor to have his vision checked again a few weeks ago & it has improved some, praise God!!! We are still having to wear the patch 2-4 hours a day and will probably have to do so for at least a year, but we are getting better so that is important.
He lost his 3rd tooth yesterday in after school care during a pizza party, so he got a visit from the tooth fairy last night. :) I have one losing tooth and another getting teeth, it seems ironic.
I am so proud of my little man!!!
Nathan is doing great too! He is still going to daycare & BB is wonderful! He just had his 12 month checkup today (a little late). He got to have a normal visit! :) I am so thankful for where God has brought us! He is in the 50th percentile for his height and the 25th percentile for his weight. I am not worried that he is only in the 50th percentile for his weight because this time one year ago he was not even on the charts!!! He got his 1st three immunizations today! It may seem strange that this makes me so happy, but he had to wait 14 months to get these. He didn't like the shots, but once they were over he was fine and has seemed to do really well all day. The doctor said that he seems to be right on target developmentally as well. :)
He loves to eat and has quite an appetite on him. He loves green beans (unlike his brother) and mandarin oranges. :) I honestly have not found much that he will not eat as long as he can feed it to himself. He is finally drinking out of a sippy cup, which he refused for sometime.
He is learning to walk and I believe he will be running all over the house before we know it. There is a video of youtube of him trying to walk, go to www.youtube.com/matthewkelly75 and watch the one that is about 4 minutes. It is a little dark because I forgot to turn a light on, sorry. He took about 4 steps last night before he dove head first as us. He can get around pretty well crawling though, because there aren't many places that he can't get to with enough determination, lol.
He now has 12 teeth and is cutting his eye teeth. Yes, that is a mouthful of teeth! We were told one time that the chemo could delay his teething, but it sure didn't delay his.
Tomorrow we are taking Nathan to get his first haircut so pictures will definitely follow. :)
I also found out today that there is a little girl, Summer who is almost 3 that has been diagnosed with cancer. I am not sure the exact type of cancer, but I know that it is in her kidneys. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. There is also another little boy that has been diagnosed with the same type of cancer that Nathan had, he is 3 years old and his name is Joshua. Please keep him and his family in your prayers as well.
God bless each of you!
April (Matt, Caleb & Nathan too)
